Fate Under Fire “Tear the Walls Down”

Formed in the summer of 2008 by Singer/Songwriter David James, Fate Under Fire has found booming success in the Indie/pop landscape. Music had always been a huge part of David’s life, but after a significant loss, he turned to music as a release and began to pursue his life long dream. Fate Under Fire spent their first few months writing new material and playing shows around their hometown of Sacramento, California. Their self produced debut EP; ‘The Simple Things’ was released in the spring of 2009. Fate Under Fire then signed with Right Brain Management. With the support of Right Brain, they embarked on their inaugural west coast tour. During this time James met fellow musician, John Gillis. James and Gillis instantly clicked, and since the formation of this partnership, the band has grown their presence online and in person.

After a successful run of west coast shows, Fate Under Fire immediately hit the studio to work on new music. After finding a breath of fresh air in their music journey, they recorded the massively successful single, ‘On The Water’. Following the recording of ‘On The Water’, a subsequent music video was filmed, a first for the band.

Fate Under Fire has just releeased a music video for “Tear The Walls Down”, the second single from ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’. They will be touring this spring and summer, and are in the studio writing their third EP.

Fate Under Fire released their second EP, ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ in June of 2014, produced by singer/songwriter David James and ZOOmania’s Jeremy Smith. The EP was mixed by Eric Robinson (Taylor Swift, Natasha Bedingfield, Brooke Fraser) and mastered by Eric Boulanger (One Republic, Plain White Ts, Colbie Caillat). The album proudly boasts six new songs that feature the band’s signature chants, big drums and pop vocal sound. “This album perfectly captures the sound, spirit and intensity of David and the band. Fate Under Fire has a ton of momentum right now, and these new songs will be fuel on the fire,” said Smith. “Getting Jeremy’s head in on these songs was really a step in the right direction. I’m really satisfied and excited for future endeavors. I’m really proud of these songs, and glad to get them out there, but I’m really touched with the cover art that features a horse my late mom painted when she was my age. She always wanted to be a writer or a painter but instead chose a job she hated. It’s a little tribute to her.” Added James.

Since the release of ‘What Dreams Are Made Of, Fate Under Fire has been on a roll, landing multiple film and TV placements. The band recently won the MTVu Freshman Five competition, and the music video for nationally acclaimed single, “On The Water” is on regular rotation on MTV Networks. Additionally, the video has been featured on FUSE Networks and UpTV. “On The Water” is being used in AT&Ts “The Mobile Movement” ad campaign and is also currently the theme song for ‘All In With Laila Ali’, which airs on CBS every Saturday morning at 9 AM.

Furthermore, two songs (“On The Water” & “All I Ever Wanted”) off the band’s EP ‘What Dreams Are Made Of’ were featured on the hit TBS show “Cougar Town” starring Courtney Cox. Another song from the EP, “Come Away”, is featured in the animated film, RoboRex, which is currently streaming on Netflix. Fate Under Fire also beat out dozens of other artists in a competition hosted by Ryan Seacrest for best cover of Katy Perry’s smash hit “Roar”. The band continues to produce well-crafted cover videos, with a cover song EP coming this Spring.
