Atom Strange

ATOM STRANGE formed in 2006 with musicians Rick Dunn and Alex Rude.
They shared a vision of forming a rock band that was inspired by science fiction, true life and the absurd, and intentionally tries to avoid the clichés normally heard in the hard rock genre.

ATOM STRANGE’s self-titled debut was released in July 2007. The juxtaposition of the odd but hook laden riffs with accessible melodies makes for what is now clearly the ATOM STRANGE sound.
A year after touring in support of the debut album the band settled in to write the songs for their next release entitled “Cosmic Disturbance”.

While writing the record, ATOM STRANGE toured the east coast. They were honored to open shows for the likes of KING’s X, LA Guns, and Pitbull. By the end of 2009, all the songs for “Cosmic Disturbance” were finished and in March 2010 ATOM STRANGE played NYC’s famous Gramercy Theater to celebrate its release to a sold-out crowd.

Shortly afterwards drummer Vinnie LaRocca joined the band, and in January 2014 Atom Strange released their 3rd album titled “The Lost Cosmonauts” to critical acclaim. The song ‘I’m Alive’ released as the first single from ‘The Lost Cosmonauts’ debuted on CMJ at #11 and climbed the rock charts to #5. The video for “I’m Alive” made it’s world premiere on Pure Grain on 4/1/15

The current lineup of Atom Strange consists of:
Rick Dunn – Vocals
Alex Rude – Guitars
Vinnie LaRocca – Drums
Santiago Helman – Bass

Atom Strange is continuing to support ‘The Lost Cosmonauts’ in 2015 including shows with Don Jamieson (from VH1’s ‘That Metal show’ and direct support for Michael Schenker at NYC’s Gramercy Theater on April 15, 2015.

ATOM STRANGE and the HI-FI SCI-FI movement they have pioneered is becoming an evolution in musical genres. Blending substance, groove, depth and style with top notch recording fidelity backed by engaging, big venue stage presence truly makes ATOM STRANGE a force to be reckoned with.

ATOM STRANGE blends dynamic, innovative riffs with powerful accessible melodies and hooks. Their attention to song writing gives a sense of cinematic depth to the band while their love for the unexpected gives ATOM STRANGE a voice truly their own.
