Kris captivated America from the first moment he stepped onto the stage of NBC’s hit show “The Voice” leaving the judges speechless with his unique rendition of Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love For You” earning him a spot on Team Shakira. He was able to showcase his incredible vibrato with his charmingly commanding falsetto. After his impressive run top 10 on Season 4 of The Voice, Thomas has seamlessly transitioned himself into musical stardom as he headed to Nashville to record his new single “Balloons.” Not only does Kris have the ability to deliver masterful lyrics with intense emotion, but his angelic beautiful, one of a kind voice displays many colorful facets that will leave you wanting more.
Originally from Memphis, Thomas was engulfed in the rich sounds of Memphis blues, jazz, soul, and gospel, and coming from a musical family, Kris knew at an early age he had a calling. He began performing publicly for the first time at the age of 14 with his church choir. Wanting to hone his talent, Kris joined the Young Actors Guild where he gained valuable experience in stage performance, songwriting, and experimented in some acting. The following year he joined Stax Music Academy where he was a member and lead vocalist of StreetCorner Harmonies, who performed at various prestigious events throughout Memphis which, were occasionally graced with the presence of former Stax artists Isaac Hayes and Mavis Staples.
After landing a brief record deal with Universal Republic, Kris is now looking forward to releasing his first EP and touring the world as an independent artist. With a new outlook on life and his passion for music being his main focus, Thomas says, “My Voice” is only the beginning.”
